Rain on my Window

Morning again. The rain outside gentle patters on my windows, smearing the world into a watercolour-like painting. Dream-like. Same way I feel today. Nevertheless I must quicken my typing if I want to get anything else done this morning. I will probably be going on a pleasant 2-3 day camping and kayaking trip along the Masquash river so this maybe the last entry I will have time to write before the eve of school.

Yesterday, I managed to sneak in a bit of preparatory work for university. I managed to switch a course that I by mistake chose. Later on in the evening I convinced Rudy one of my friends who gave me rides last year to class. Now all I need is someway of returning on Wednesday back home. I am also planning to get a new wireless card, as I will not have the time to fix the old one. Other than that I just need to get into two tutorial sections, and get my books. As for actually reading up before coming to my first lecture. Well that is not going to happen probably.

Unfortunately I could not get anything done on my software projects due to lack of time. I do not know if I will be able to work on them again until next week. And only then when I do not have any assignments or course work to do. On the plus side I managed to write up almost all of the factions that will be in my novel. As for a glossary of made-up words. Well I will leave that for later as I write the novel. Its kind of unfortunate that I can not bring my laptop with me for the trip, as I would be able to get more writing accomplished that way. Sigh…

Yesterday, I walked down a beautiful white sandy beach around the Long Point region. The soft squishy feeling of my feet impacting with the wet sand that stretched down the surf. A fresh breeze blew from across the lake, whipping the water into turquoise and indigo waves. The tan, foaming, sand laid-en breakers rushed up and down the beach. Every so often, a larger wave flowed over my feet up past my ankles with such force, that the water sloshed up onto my knees. And so I walked down the beach in a leisurely pace. The sun blazing in the clear sapphire sky. The wind tugging at me. And the surf washing over my feet.

Then we went to London, to see my brother’s orthodontist. He also asked to see me, and said that my backward jaw was also fixable. Yes, overbites without the use of surgery. The cost… $5800. Ouch. Out of my own pocket. Ouchie-ouchie-ouch! Then forth to the local Costco where I found a tempting offer. Twenty dollars for Myst IV. I only left it for the sake of my own project, Insomia, so that the game’s ideas would not influence my own. Sigh…

The rain has stopped outside. Now the world is clear to see through the minute drops that cling to my window. Time to move on.

A Quick Glance of Recent Events

A number of things have happened that I have neglected to mention. So here is a quick rundown:

My brother has been away at scout camp for the past 3 weeks. While he did have fun there, he also had to endure some ridiculous conditions, and messed-up leaders. I in his shoes would of bailed out as soon as I could, or protest violently. But he stuck it out. I can’t figure out why, especially since he ate very little (cause the hair-brained cooks couldn’t and wouldn’t serve his special diet foods, even thought everything was prepared in advance) and slept in awful tents, etc. Anyways he is back, and he hopes to go back there next year…

Another thing was an accident at work I had. I cut my elbow with my utility knife in an ugly fashion, and had to get stitches. Not fun. Especially not the tetanus booster shot I got. The nurse jabbed me so hard, that my shoulder and upper left arm were sore for the next three days.

Dmitri moved to a new house, so now walking to his house is no longer an option. Ewa decided to go on vacation to New York with her boyfriend, Lucas. Yes I am jealous. Domenic is off to Michigan to attend one of his college friend’s weddings. Katka is somewhere in Slovenia. Still. Rudy is working and taking a few courses. Lucky bastard. Oh and Mike Hart when not working with me at CKF, he is out partying the living daylights out of… whatever it is. And me. Well I am blogging. So that means I am home, deluded and the highlights of my day being time in front of the computer. Pathetic.

Anyways, I also went with my folks for a walk in the woods today. Mom enjoyed it. So did my brother. Me and my Dad tested positive for mosquito affinity… and counted 45 bites each… wished we stayed home. Now I am covered in red little itchy bumps. Its a Canadian thing.

Good news is that I am caught up with my blogs. So I will try to be from now on up-to-date in that section. And I filled out my OSAP application. Finally. Oh and I got sound working in Quake 3 under Linux. Yes!!! Not to mention, yesterday I kicked Rudy’s sorry ass in a round of Legends. Hehe… got you at last. 🙂

Disagreeances.

Another day… another dollar. Which is an excellent away to sum up my day. Right.

So I was chating with my good friend, Dima about dating, girls, and relationships. Got into a bit of a row about this theory about male-female relationships, called the “Ladder Theory”. I am not saying that I discredit the theory out of hand or anything. But it felt a bit too shallow. I mean I don’t think like that… I have worked on surpassing my irrational, emotional side and be more rational. I really don’t think it is appropriate to say that people judge the opposite sex, almost purely on sexual attraction. Come on. Hormones and phermones do play an important in a person’s life, but not the central part. Ah well. Maybe it was just the way the person brought it across.

Cry… I was hoping to meet up with Kat tomorrow. Alas, she must find a summer job, so she will be busy that day. Beside it will rain tomorrow. And Dima is bugging me against it… for the longest time. I have not figured out exactly why… but I know he means well. Still what is wrong with occasionally meeting up? Oh well never mind. I might end up going with Rudy shopping, if I am lucky.

As for life, nothing much except idling, working on chores, and being bored. I don’t know why, but things have just sort of died recently. As for hacking, I plan to do more of it. Just not really motivated much nowadays… The highlight was watching an episode of SG-1, which is one of my favorite series (Lost and BSG being the other two). I have not watched StarGate in ages. Fun stuff.

The mlaren is parked neatly in my orbiting super-battlecruiser… the Insomniac. I will drive it again. Soon. After I bombard the planet below a few times. Cherrio!
